Nowhere To Share
Myself being an artist I understand the struggle to get your work out and seen by the world. Sometimes we find a spot for it and someone comes along and tells you to take it down, move off this corner, or you can’t post that here. I am sure they mean no harm but it crushes a part of the artist soul. It is like telling you your child is ugly or does not belong. We paint because we must and we share it because we want the world to see what we see. For most artists it is not about making money it is about affording the next can of paint or a new brush. Most of what little we earn we pour back into supplies, just like you would to feed your child. Where do you think the term starving artist came from. If it was about money none of us would paint or have children. Most of us have made a few dollars from our work but it would never get you a cottage home in paradise or a Mercedes Bens to drive, we are lucky if it pays the rent. It is simply a part of us and all we want is someone to love it. I am calling all Maritime artists that are in need of a place to call their corner, their wall, or their place on social network to join my new Face book page Maritime Artists and Friends at https://www.facebook.com/groups/MYMEGAPHONE/ We welcome all friends and fans of art to join us also. We have many talented people from back home and we want to share what they do with you all. If you are familiar with our province then you have seen our rich culture and our eclectic people. We work in bright bold colors and unique styles of art. You will be able to find gifts you can’t find anywhere else but here. We have sea glass artists, jewellery makers, painters of several mediums, painted shoes, beach bags, hook rugs, drift wood work, sea shell crafts and so much more. Starting in September I will be interviewing one artist a month. You will get a chance to know them and understand their work and what drives their passion to create what they have to offer, “A Look Inside The Art with Carolin Palmer.” Please join our growing group, you won’t be disappointed. Make new friends, chat about what’s new or old, buy something or not, we welcome you like a true Maritimer would, with opened arms! https://www.facebook.com/groups/MYMEGAPHONE/ All members will be entered for a free draw for a Proud To Be A Bluenoser Beach bag. Text can be changed to suit your part part of the Maritimes or world. Join for your chance to win also.
